ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Troy M. Litten
Graphic Designer | Art Director | Photographer
Hailing from the rarified confines of Northwest Ohio, Troy M. Litten received a
Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design from the University of Cincinnati in 1989,
living and working in New York, London and Boston before graduating top of his
class. Returning to Europe, he worked in London and Dublin as a Graphic Designer
until a trip around the world brought him back to America the long way around.
He has since been working in New York, San Francisco and London while continuing
to satisfy his abundant wanderlust at every opportunity.
Troy's design work has been published in Print Magazine Regional Design Annual 2003, Graphis Letterhead 3: An International
Collection of Letterhead Design, Graphis Design 98: The International Annual of Design and Illustration, One Color Two Color
Graphics and New Logo and Trademark Design. He has exhibited at the Graphis Logo and Letterhead Exhibition
(1996 American Institute of Graphic Arts National Conference in Seattle, Washington) and the 1996 Southern Exposure Gallery Annual
Group Show in San Francisco. Troy's commercial work encompasses a wide range of corporate branding efforts
including corporate identity and literature design, apparel and merchandise graphics, retail and environmental graphics and packaging for clients
such as Apple Computer, Esprit International, MarchFirst (USWeb/CKS), Trymedia Systems, HearMe, Banana Republic, Wieden & Kennedy, Compagnie Internationale
Express, Arnell Group and Details Magazine.
Wanderlust, a series of books, journals and postcards conceived, photographed and designed by Troy, was launched in 2002 by
Chronicle Books to rave reviews. The work is the result of his many years spent wandering the globe fuelled by
an appreciation of and fascination for all visual languages. Never without a camera and a desire to hoard,
his magpie instinct has resulted in a truly amazing collection of photographs and visual ephemera from around the world,
as well as a collection of vintage airline bags that fills most of his flat.
Having just returned from an inspiring trip to Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, Troy is currently hard at work producing the first gallery exhibition of his work,
and the Wanderlust book launch party: Friday April 23, 7-9pm at DEN in San Francisco.
